Year 6 at Exmouth Camp day 1

04 October 2017

Our intrepid campers set off yesterday morning for Temple Meads and the train to wonderful Exmouth camp.

Here is there diary of day 1...

We had a busy first day of camp today. We started our journey in Bristol and successfully swapped trains at Exeter before carrying on to Exmouth. When we arrived, Stuart met us with the truck and took our bags along to camp. We took shelter from the rain halfway along the beach next to a dinosaur and had some lunch, making sure we avoided the seagulls! After stopping at the lifeboat station, we got to the hill up to camp. Tents were made homely before we took part in circus skills. We learnt to juggle with 3 bean bags, perform tricks on the diablo, unicycle, make model animals (which are now decorating our tents) and walk the tight rope.

After, it was nearly time for dinner so we went up to the dining hall and listened to how it works. Fish and chips with peas was on the menu and we had ice cream for dessert. We came back to camp and put jumpers on and went down to our little beach and explored the rock pools and had beach races. When we came back it was showers and hot chocolate time. We had the creamiest hot chocolate ever before we had a story and nodded off to sleep, ready for day 2!
