Day 1 at Exmouth Camp

10 September 2018

We’ve developed some brand new skills today - bet you didn’t know your child could walk a tightrope!

After some heavy suitcase lugging up and down stairs at train stations, we finally arrived by the sea! The children were delighted at the sun, sea and sand and we enjoyed some sandy sandwiches on the beach. Once we got to camp and settled in to our tents, we had an exciting circus skills session where the children learnt how to use Diablos, stilts, unicycles and many more cool circus tricks! They spell really used their resilience to keep working on these skills until they got the hang of it and we felt very proud of their determination!

They were then all itching to play football in the huge field we have all to ourselves here at Exmouth camp! So we had some free time to relax and get unpacked and enjoy each others’ company in the sun. We then had a delicious waiting for us: crispy fish and chips with peas. The children ate seconds (and some had thirds) and even a big slice of cake each for dessert! After dinner, we had a lovely coastal walk as the sun went down, arriving back in time for hot chocolate and a little catch up on our favourite parts of the day (lots of children commented on how great their shower was!) before getting all tucked up in bed.

Tomorrow we will be making kites and trying out some water sports! Keep checking the blog and twitter for more updates!! Goodnight!
