The Fire Service Visit Year 2

14 September 2016

On Thursday 8th September Year 2 began their Topic with a visit from the Avon and Somerset Fire Service.

The fire men came and talked to the children about their job and how we can keep safe if there is a fire. The most exciting part was when the firemen dressed up in their protective uniform - they have to wear a lot of clothes and equipment to stay safe! At the end of the talk the firemen made a quick exit. They weren't being rude; they had had a call to say they needed to go and put out a real fire!

The children listened well and asked lots of interesting questions.

This term we will continue to look at fire safety as part of our topic The Great Fire of London.
