Over the past few weeks Year 2 have had fun learning about the Great Fire of London. They learned about what London was like in 1666 as well as how the fire started and how the fire spread. As part of their topic they made their very own Tudor houses. At the end of the topic the children were keen to bur their houses as a way of re-creating the Great Fire of London. They made sure they put the houses close together and with a little help from the wind their houses burned to ash! This helped us to remeber just how quickly London burned in 1666 and just how many houses were destroyed.
End of Topic Celebration!
24 October 2016Year 2 had fun celebrating the end of their topic: The Great Fire of London on Firday. They watched their handmade Tudor houses burn to nothing similar to what would have happened in the real fire back in London 1666.
