We enjoyed celebrating Sonia's special day. The children made cards at home and we decorated her desk!

Local History Week- learning about the Great Western Railway.

EC class took a train journey to Bath to learn about the Great Western Railway! We wanted to find out what impact the railway had for people in Bristol in the past. We were excited to see Bristol Temple Meads train station and imagine what it would have looked like when it was first built. When we returned to school, we wrote diary entries, using our imaginations to write about taking a train journey in the past.

Year 2 Homework Challenge: To build a bridge using junk modelling material.

The children were asked to design and create a bridge just like Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Have a look at some of the fantastic bridges that were handed in on Monday. Mr Webster was so impressed he handed out special prizes for the best designs!

Captain Barnacle Visit

Captain Barnacle came to visit Key Stage One!

EC class asked lots of questions and learned a lot about pirates. We learned about pirate clothes, weapons and about the history of Bristol. We enjoyed looking at the interesting things he brought to show us. This will really help us with our Lteracy writing which is all about pirates!
