Year 3 Week 2

25 March 2020

Well done on all of your hard work in week 1. Sonia, Miss Goldsack and Miss Davis are SO proud of all of the work you have been doing so far. We loved speaking to you and seeing all of the pictures of you last week, keep them coming! Remember you can send them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so that we can post them on here or even on twitter.

Now you have done 1 week of learning at home we think you are ready for some more challenging work so put your learning hats on and come on in!!

Lovely to see you back! At the moment our comments box and captions aren't working so the only way to contact us is through the school phone number or email. We really love hearing from you so please do keep them coming. Also keep going with bugclub and timestable rockstars - we love checking and finding out who has been online.  We will be calling you on Tuesday afternoon again this week so make sure you are near your phones!

News from Sonia

Hello Year 3!

I’m missing all of you children and especially my morning chat with Miss Davis and Miss Goldsack!!
I am staying at home with my family and doing all the jobs that I never get the chance to do, but remembering it’s important to get out and do my daily walk.
Have a look at my photos to see how I’m keeping myself busy.
I hope you’re getting some work completed and I’m loving seeing all the photos but more please!!
I will stay in touch with you all but as my cat Winnie shows, please try to stay at home?

Love from Sonia

Birthdays

It's Abubaker's birthday this week and funfact - Miss Goldsack and Hajara are also celebrating their birthdays this week on the same day!! Happy birthday to all three of you!

Weekly Challenges

  • Mr Rossetti would like you to keep active so he has given us two PE links here and here.  He has also made his very own video of a PE lesson for you.  See it here!
  • Ring or speak to friends and family and ask them what their favourite foods/animals are. Create a pictogram and/or tally chart for your results!

  • Recycle some cardboard from your food packaging and create a caravel (the type of boat that John Cabot sailed on). Take pictures which we can share!
  • We had a lovely idea from Lilja's Dad last week. She is going to research a topic and present what she has learnt to her parents! We suggest you see what you can find out about magnets!
  • This week there is also a friendly battle running on Timestable Rockstars between Kingfisher and Woodpecker.  Be sure to play on garage mode to get the most coins!

English

You are going to use what you learned yesterday to help you with todays learning in english. Miss Davis has written a story and made it into a little animation for you, she would like you to write the story down using all of the punctuation you need. Remember inverted commas go around what the person is saying and new speaker means new line. Do you think you and Miss Davis will have written the same story down?

Can you write your own story about the characters living in a big house?
