17 June 2020

Hello again, Year 6! It's Week 4 (time flies!) - here's your learning for this week

  • Children in Group A should do this work on Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th and Friday 26th
  • Children in Group B should do this work on Monday 29th, Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 1st (July).

  • At the bottom of the page is work to do if you haven't come to school since we re-opened.

Message from John!

Dear Year 6

I hope you and your families have all kept well during these uncertain times we find ourselves in.

Due to the pandemic, I regret that I will not be returning to Hannah More before you all leave next month, so I wanted to send you a final message.

Firstly, I want to wish each one of you all the best at Secondary School in September. Embrace the change, remember what you have been taught and I have no doubts you will all be the stars I know you are.

Secondly, many thanks to Miss Skinner and Mr Cook for enabling me to share a part of your Year 6 journey. I never cease to be amazed by their hard work and dedication to seeing you all achieve to the best of your abilities.

Finally, a huge thank you to all of you. Unfortunately, Coronavirus took away a number of months during which I had planned to work with you. However what Coronavirus can never take away is the great memories and fondness I have for the times we did share.

You were a great year group to work with and you provided me with another memorable year at Hannah More.

All that remains is for me to wish each one of you all the best for the future and from me it's over and out.

John

Even though we haven't done English in school this week (because we've been busy filming our Leavers' Video!), we'd still like you to do some at home.

Here's the link to  the video for The Arrival Book

Day 1

Watch this video about a boy who came to England as a refugee.

Write a recount of his story using this as a suggested layout (you could do something different if you like!).

Day 2

Tomorrow you will be writing a setting description about this image but today you will be planning it using this worksheet (you will have been given this if you came to class but if not you can just write it straight into your book):

Day 3

Using your planning from yesterday, write a setting description about the above image.

If you haven't attended school since it re-opened, here is the work you should do:

Maths:

English: Do the BBC Bitesize lessons for the week
