At Hannah More we run lots of courses and activities for parents. We are really excited about all the courses coming up this autumn!
Courses in 2016:
Drama for mums - meet others, improve your confidence, gain performance skills and improve your English if you need to! Last year our drama group, run by community theatre company ACTA, devised a new play and performed it at the ACTA theatre!. The group will start again on Monday 26th September at 9.15. Family Learning - This course is for parents with children in our new Reception classes. Find out how to support children with reading and writing. Taster sessions are on Tuesday 13th (afternoon) Thursday 15th (morning). The course continues on Thursday mornings from 22nd September.
Sewing - our sewing courses have been really popular! The next course will focus on making costumes for our Reception production. We aim to start on Friday 4th November at 9.30.
English conversation group - this group is led by trained volunteers. It's a chance to speak English with others and find out about other cultures too. The group will restart on Wednesdays from September, 9.15-10.15. More information here.
Nurturing Programme - We will run this popular parenting course again this year - watch this space!
First Aid - We are running a first aid workshop on 26th September 9.30-12.30. There will also be a longer course later in the term.
Cycling - following on from our cycling courses last year, we have adult school bikes which can be borrowed! Please ask the office for more details.
Coffee - parents are welcome to drop in for tea / coffee from 8.45-9.05 in the community room.
Open mornings - During the year, we run Open Mornings when parents can come and experience teaching and learning at Hannah More. Advance booking is essential. We will send home information before each event. The dates for open mornings are 12th October and 28th February.
There will also be a range of workshops run by teachers, to help you to support your child with literacy and maths.
